Why convert WebP to PDF
WebP is the format websites serve to save bandwidth, so a right-click download increasingly gives you .webp instead of .jpg. When you need to file, print or email those images, a PDF is the format the recipient can open without questions.
Your browser decodes WebP natively — including lossless and transparent variants — and each image is placed on its own page. Transparent areas are flattened to white so the PDF prints correctly.
How to convert WebP to PDF
- Drop the WebP images onto the page and drag them into order.
- Choose page size, orientation and margin.
- Click Convert and download the PDF.
About the formats
WebP · WebP image · .webp
Google’s web image format: 25–35 % smaller than JPG at the same quality, supports transparency and animation, but not every desktop app can open it.
- WebP has both lossy and lossless modes, and both support transparency.
- All modern browsers support WebP; older image editors, Windows Photos before 2020 and many print workflows do not.
- Right-clicking and saving an image from a website often gives you a WebP file even if the page shows a JPG.
PDF · Portable Document Format · .pdf
The fixed-layout document standard: looks the same on every device and printer, which is why forms, invoices, contracts and reports are shared as PDF.
- A PDF can contain vector text, embedded fonts, images, form fields, annotations and digital signatures.
- Scanned PDFs are just pictures of pages; they need OCR before the text can be searched or copied.
- PDF is an open ISO standard (ISO 32000) since 2008.
