Does the PDF stay vector?

No — the drawing is rendered to a high-resolution bitmap (300 dpi) and embedded. For true vector PDF output, export from Inkscape or Illustrator.

Why are fonts different?

Text in the SVG uses fonts installed on your device; if a font is missing, the browser substitutes one. Convert text to paths in your editor first for exact results.

Are external images inside the SVG included?

Embedded (data URI) images are; links to external files are not, for security reasons.

Why convert SVG to PDF

SVG is perfect for the web and for editing, but PDF is the exchange format of print and paperwork. Many office and layout programs will not place an SVG at all, while a PDF drops in anywhere.

The SVG is rendered by your browser’s own SVG engine — fonts, gradients and filters included — at 300 dpi for the chosen page size, then embedded in the PDF. The result prints sharply at any normal size.

How to convert SVG to PDF

Drop the SVG files onto the page.
Choose a page size (same as the drawing, A4 or Letter) and orientation.
Click Convert and download the PDF.

About the formats

A vector format described in XML: logos and icons that scale to any size without blur, editable in a text editor.

SVG has no fixed pixel size; when you convert it to PNG you choose the output dimensions.
