Fees per card in US dollars, checked on Oct 2, 2026. Several companies paused their cheapest service levels in 2026 to work through backlogs, so the lowest listed price is not always one you can order. Paused levels are marked. Shipping and insurance are extra.

The CGC and TAG figures were read from the companies’ own pages. PSA’s site did not open for an automated check and Beckett’s site was showing a maintenance notice, so those figures come from the news report and pricing tracker linked under each table. Every preset in the calculator is an editable default: if your submission form shows a different fee, type it in.
Why only the top grades add value
A grade does not add a fixed amount to a card; it sorts copies into price classes. For modern cards pulled straight from packs, near-mint is the normal state, so a 9 says little that a buyer could not already assume, and it often sells for close to the raw price. A 10 is scarce by comparison, and collectors who want the best copy pay a premium that can be several times the raw price. Grades of 8 and below often sell for less than a clean raw copy, because the holder now documents the flaws.
Vintage cards behave differently: clean copies are rare, so a 7 or an 8 of an old holo can still be worth well above an average raw copy. Enter real sold prices for your card at each grade; the raw price is quick to look up in the Pokémon card value checker.
The calculator multiplies the value at each grade by its chance and adds them up, subtracts selling fees, the grading fee and shipping, and compares the result with what you would keep selling the card raw. That difference is an average over many cards: a single card gets one grade, not the average.
Grading from Europe
Most grading companies price in dollars and grade in the United States, so a European collector pays for tracked, insured shipping both ways, and import VAT and a carrier handling charge can apply when cards return from outside the EU. Some companies run European submission centers: PSA was reported to have opened one in Frankfurt, Germany, with submissions from September 15, 2026, while Beckett’s EU online submissions were unavailable on Oct 2, 2026. The other route is a group submission through an intermediary that gathers cards from many collectors, ships them in one insured parcel and charges a handling fee per card. Check the total price per card, the insurance, who is liable for a lost parcel and the full round-trip time, then put the all-in figure in the shipping field above.
Risks to price in
- The grade. One print line or slightly off centering turns an expected 10 into a 9, and the profit usually goes with it.
- Upcharges. Service levels have a maximum card value. If the graded card is worth more, the company can bill the difference to the right level.
- Time. The cheaper levels take months, and prices of new-set cards often fall meanwhile as more copies are opened and graded.
- Transit. Insure the parcel for the cards’ real value in both directions.
