Why convert ZIP to PDF
Manually unzipping and dragging 200 images into a PDF tool is tedious; here the archive is opened, files are sorted naturally (page1, page2, … page10) and assembled into one document.
Image-only archives are converted entirely in your browser. Archives containing Office documents are converted on our server, where each document becomes a section of the PDF.

About the formats
ZIP · ZIP archive · .zip
The universal archive: several files bundled and compressed into one, opened natively on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
- ZIP compresses each file separately, so already-compressed files (JPG, MP4) barely shrink.
- ZIP supports password protection, but the classic ZipCrypto scheme is weak; AES-256 ZIPs need 7-Zip or WinZip.
- A ZIP over 4 GB needs the ZIP64 extension, which very old tools do not read.
PDF · Portable Document Format · .pdf
The fixed-layout document standard: looks the same on every device and printer, which is why forms, invoices, contracts and reports are shared as PDF.
- A PDF can contain vector text, embedded fonts, images, form fields, annotations and digital signatures.
- Scanned PDFs are just pictures of pages; they need OCR before the text can be searched or copied.
- PDF is an open ISO standard (ISO 32000) since 2008.
