Why convert MP3 to MP3
MP3 is made of independent frames, so cutting is a matter of decoding the file, keeping the samples between your start and end points and re-encoding them with the LAME encoder at the bitrate you pick. The tool runs the whole chain in your browser through WebAssembly.
Because the clip is re-encoded, it is frame-accurate to a hundredth of a second — no keyframe rounding — and you can lower the bitrate at the same time to make a ringtone or voice clip smaller.
How to convert MP3 to MP3
- Drop the MP3 onto the page.
- Enter the start and end time in seconds (e.g. 45 to 75 for a 30-second ringtone).
- Choose the bitrate, click Cut and download the clip.
