Counting backward vs. forward
Counting days backward trips people up for the same reason counting forward does: months have different lengths, so “90 days ago” is not simply “three months ago”. Ninety days back from late May lands in February, which is short — the calendar-month shortcut can be off by several days. Deadlines, return windows and record checks that are defined in days should always be counted in actual days.
Looking forward instead? Use the days from today calculator. To count the exact number of days between two known dates — for example from a purchase date to today — use the date calculator.
