82 PPI
Pixel density

| Total pixels | 2.1 MP |
The screen PPI calculator works out a display's pixel density from its resolution and diagonal size. Use it to compare the sharpness of different screens and judge how crisp an image will look.
How the calculator works and what it’s for▾
How PPI is calculated
Pixel density follows PPI = √(width² + height²) / diagonal in inches. In other words, you first find the diagonal of the resolution in pixels and divide it by the screen's diagonal.
For example, a Full HD display (1920 × 1080) at 24 inches gives a density of about 92 PPI.
What you enter and what you get
Enter the horizontal and vertical resolution in pixels plus the diagonal size in inches. You get the pixel density as a PPI value and the total pixel count in megapixels.
A higher PPI means denser pixels and usually a sharper image.
Who it is for and when
It helps when choosing a monitor, laptop or phone and you want to compare sharpness between devices of a similar size.
Photographers and designers also use it to judge how finely an image will be reproduced on a given screen.
Interpreting the result
Above roughly 300 PPI a screen looks sharp up close, making individual pixels hard to see. Larger screens are viewed from farther away, so a lower PPI is enough.
PPI alone does not tell the whole story: panel technology, brightness and colour accuracy all affect the final picture.
