The beer crate calculator estimates how many beers or ciders you need for a party based on guests, duration and drinking pace. That way you avoid both running dry and an awkward surplus.
How the calculator works and what it’s for▾
How the amount is calculated
The tool first estimates how many guests drink, then multiplies that by the party length and the hourly drinking pace. The result is the total number of drinks needed.
For example, 20 guests with 80% drinking over a four-hour party at one drink per hour comes to about 64 drinks, just under three crates.
What you enter and what you get
Enter the number of guests, the party duration, drinks per hour per person and the share who drink as a percentage. You get the number of drinking guests, the total drinks, the crates needed and an estimated cost.
The cost estimate is based on roughly 1.50 dollars per drink and gives a rough budget for shopping.
Who it is for
It suits planning house parties, cabin trips, birthdays and summer gatherings when you want to buy the right amount in one go.
Expressing the result in crates makes shopping easier, since one crate holds 24 cans.
Tips for party planning
The estimate is based on an average pace, so buy a little extra — it is better to have leftovers than to run out.
Always offer non-alcoholic options and water too, so every guest has something to drink.
