Net salary is what is left of your pay after taxes and statutory contributions. This calculator estimates your take-home pay from gross salary using 2026 Finnish tax rules.
How the calculator works and what it’s for▾
What makes up net salary?
From the gross salary, withholding tax (municipal and state tax), the employee pension contribution (TyEL), the unemployment insurance contribution and the health insurance daily-allowance contribution are deducted. What remains is the net (take-home) salary.
Your tax rate depends on income level, home municipality, church tax and deductions (commuting, household deduction).
How the calculator works
Enter your gross monthly salary and the calculator estimates the deductions and shows your net salary and annual figures. The result is indicative — your exact rate is on your tax card (vero.fi).
Example
From a €3,000 gross salary, roughly €2,200–2,350 typically remains per month depending on municipality and deductions. A raise increases net by less than gross because of progressive taxation.
Tips
Check your withholding rate yearly — too low leads to back taxes, too high gives a refund but ties up money needlessly. Use your deductions (commuting, household deduction 35% / max €1,600 in 2026).
